ISLAMABD (Dunya News) – The petitions that were filed against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Kulsoom Nawaz challenging her candidacy in the NA-120 by-elections have on Monday been disposed of by the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan.

The petitions were filed by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nominee for NA-120 Faisal Mir and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmad Chaudhry.

Faisal Mir’s counsel said while presenting his arguments that Kulsoom Nawaz did not declared her United Arab Emirates (UAE) Iqama (work permit), upon which Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that this case is different from Panama Papers case in which Nawaz Sharif concealed his salary.

The pre-election stage has passed and if there is still any objection, it should be raised before the tribunal, commented Justice Gulzar.

Justice Faiz Essa reprimanded PAT’s lawyer Azhar Siddique and asked him in which capacity has he challenged Kulsoom Nawaz’s candidature after taking back his nomination papers?

Justice Faiz asked the counsel to argue on legal terms instead of making speeches. The voters have expressed their opinion in the by-polls which should be respected, he maintained.
